Iran’s Breakthrough in Cancer Treatment with Stem Cell Exosomes
WANA (Jan 04) – A knowledge-based company in Iran has developed a method for eliminating cancer cells using stem cell excretions, without damaging healthy cells. According to the company’s researchers, this approach eliminates the side effects of chemotherapy. Two weeks after receiving exosome injections, patients begin to show signs of improvement, including better general health.
Dr. Sahar Shajayi, a molecular genetics expert, explains that the company has introduced exosome-based cell therapy, utilizing excretions from mesenchymal stem cells isolated from newborn umbilical cords.
These exosomes contain growth factors, anti-inflammatory elements, and angiogenesis properties. The treatment is aimed at cancer patients experiencing severe inflammation post-chemotherapy or radiotherapy, which often leads to complications like edema and loss of appetite.
Shajayi also mentioned that this method supports tissue regeneration and has shown promising results in reducing post-chemotherapy side effects. Clinical studies are also underway for neurological, fertility, and orthopedic applications. The company hopes to expand this treatment, pending approval from the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, the company is investigating neurodegeneration therapies, specifically for diseases like ALS, where stem cell excretions could help repair nerve damage.
Additionally, this treatment has shown potential for addressing brain injuries from strokes, as well as improving fertility in both men and women. However, those with genetic disorders are not suitable candidates for this method.
